How to link your IRCTC account to your Aadhar card
By linking their Aadhaar number to an IRCTC account, users can now book 12 e-tickets per month. The Aadhaar verification is not required for booking more than six e-tickets per month. Users must verify that they have at least one passenger on their Aadhaar number to be eligible for this benefit.
Steps to link Aadhaar number with IRCTC account
Online linking of Aadhaar and IRCTC is possible. Before booking tickets, you should complete the linking process. It is easy and involves only a few steps, as described below.
- Visit www.irctc.co.in, the official website for e-ticketing.
- Enter your “User ID” and “Password”.
- Click on “Aadhaar KYC” in the “my profile” tab.
- Enter your Aadhaar number and select the “Send OTP” option. An OTP will be sent to your registered number.
- Enter the OTP, then click the “Verify” option.
- Once validated, KYC details will appear on the screen.
- To initiate KYC verification, select the “Submit” option. After that, the Aadhaar will have been verified.
How to add a passenger with an Aadhaar number
- Visit www.irctc.co.in, the official website for e-ticketing.
- Enter your “User ID” and “password”.
- Click on “Master List” by placing your cursor over the “Profile Section”.
- As printed on the Aadhaar Card, enter the relevant information for the new passengers, such as the Aadhaar number and gender.
- Continue to select the “Submit” option.
All new passengers added to the ‘Master List” will be reflected in the ‘Master List, with a status of ‘Pending’ once this is completed. After verification, the status will be automatically reflected as ‘Verified. Important to remember that OTP verification is not required for this purpose. It would help if you also remembered that passengers on the master list might be Aadhaar verified by clicking the “Edit” option.
